I love how music is like a time machine. With one note or lyric, you can be transported to a different emotional universe, known or unknown.
I created this particular playlist to transport me back to a time when “Soul” music transitioned into “R&B” music. Its a small sample but I think they do the trick. These songs span from the 80’s to the early 90’s. For me that’s junior to end of high school. hijole!
Press play and enjoy.
Its on shuffle so you can get a nice sample of the entire playlist.
Some of the titles and/or the artists listed are incorrect and that’s how the original poster listed it.
Example: “Don’t disturb this groove” was not sung by Al. B Sure, its Surface correction The System. Thanks Drew!
I’ve said many times before that music and art have saved my life. Before becoming a solopreneur, I had more time to research new music, now I barely have time to sleep. Thank god for NAT GEO MUSIC which just made its U.S. debut this month. It shows videos from around the world, no foolin.
Nneka’s video for “Heartbeat” came on and immediately I was like who is that? She’s like a Nigerian Ms. Dynamite. Looking forward to hearing and seeing more of her.
NAT GEO MUSIC is like a musical adventure. It really should be a 24 hour channel, right?
I’ve been m.i.a. lately cuz At & T sucks and due to my internet being down for almost 3 days (they told me it was my modem but after 2 days they finally figured out it was actually their faulty line) it messed up my entire schedule with my projects for clients. Then Monday, I had to report for jury duty. So I’ve just been trying to recover.
I have some things to blog about including on how I sent my scrap gold to Gold Kit and how if you get jury duty at the downtown courthouse in Los Angeles there’s at least one perk.
I’ve been wanting to watch ShowTime’s “This American Life“, since last season and finally saw a couple of episodes over the past couple of days. I’ve seen “Escape” and “Going down in history”. So fascinating. I love being able to see a slice of someone else’s experience.
Above is a preview of season two.
I’ve had this terrible cough since Sunday, so I’ve been watching a lot of tv at night since going outside is not really an option right now.

Salutations! I’m wearing a thin hoody, a t-shirt and jeans, how loverly is that post heat wavers?
So Mellowdrone’s Limited Edition 7″ for “Maquina” is now available. I did the illustration and design. The song is good, its a grower-oner but it gets there. “Maquina” is in English and on the B side its “Machine” and in Spanish. Johnatha Bates, the lead signer, es de Venezuela.
Hola
I mentioned back HERE how I now also contribute to a rad new blog called LAEASTSIDE.COM. Here’s my latest post that continues the Japon theme that wasn’t posted here.
I really enjoy MOJO’s programming so I decided to blog about it. I Googled it and the first line in the description of the HD channel, is “original HD programming tailored to the lifestyle interests of the modern man.” There it is I’m the modern man.
Here’s two of the many shows that I watch on the regular.
After Hours with Daniel Boulud. Its in its third season. Each season he’s in a different city hosting after hour dinners with different awesome chefs and the guest list is super interesting.
